I’m Phil Morse, a pro DJ since 1993. As well as being the founder of Digital DJ Tips, one of the world’s leading DJ schools, I was previously co-founder and resident DJ at Tangled, one of the most-loved club night of the 1990s and 2000s, in my home city of Manchester, England. My career highlight is probably DJing the main room at Privilege, Ibiza, the world’s biggest club. I’ve always loved spinning house, Balearic, chill out, and sunshine vibes of all types.

My DJing renaissance

My DJ career took a hiatus from the mid-2000s onwards, as I was pulled in other directions, not least setting up Digital DJ Tips, nowadays one of the leading DJ schools in the world.

But the 2020 lockdown prompted a much-thought about return to the decks creatively. Starting off with livestreaming from our balcony at home, and digging into 30 years of music for inspiration, it quickly mutated into a hugely fun fortnightly search for new music to play.

In doing so, I rediscovered the joys of “crate digging”, and have been inspired by a lot of the new music that’s out there, although my sets do fall back on some of the “classics” from time to time, and often veer away from house for a track or two as well. Such is the way I have always DJed.

You can watch and listen to all of my livestreams here.

I also felt inspired to finally collect together all my mixes from “back in the day”. Learn more about the challenge facing me to do this in this blog post, and listen to my 90s/00s mixes here.

How to support me

I run this endeavour as a labour of love away from the “day job”, so if you enjoy what I share here, please consider subscribing to me on Mixcloud. This way, the artists get rewarded when you listen – a win/win.
